Year : 2015
Role : Individual
Skills : Book writing and Illustration, Character design
'A Life of Strife' is an illustrated book peeking into some of the problems faced by wastepickers and the people who clean the streets. Sacrificing their health, these people take the trouble to segregate garbage. They are not provided with proper gear and clothing to handle the hazardous and domestic wastes. Irrespective of their age, these people walk barefoot on heaps of garbage that is the collective dump of an entire city. Children instead of being sent to school are forced to do laborious work.
The illustrations were finalized after interviews with wastepickers from different areas.

The A-Z of Jakkur Lake
Year : 2016
Role : Individual
Skills : Book writing and Illustration, Character design
My aim was to create a book which gives information about Jakkur's biodiversity, ecosystems, sewage, surroundings, industries, etc. With the data collected through primary and secondary research, I integrated the text and visuals. The visuals have been experimented with repetition, size, scale and medium. A few of them have been hand drawn while others are digital illustrations and simple photo manipulations; all resulting in patterns. I intend to take the reader through a visual journey of patterns and small texts of information in the simplest manner i.e from A-Z.
The book was created as part of the design charrette: Kere as Pattern at Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology.
